The sacredness of this beautiful plant....

I just want to take a moment of reverence for this beautiful piece of Cacao.
354gms of pure paste. It's always good to remember what a low yield Cacao produces, and just how very precious this medicine is.
♡ It takes a Cacao tree about 5 years to mature.
♡ On average each tree produces 40 pods a year.
♡ On average each pod produces 25-35 seeds.
♡ To create 1 kilo paste can require up to 600 beans.
♡ One tree produces on average 1 kilo paste per year.
♡ a 30gm cup is about 18 beans. Half a pods worth. So this 354gms pure Cacao paste is about 210 beans!
To be really geeky that's 17% of the trees annual production! It's mind blowing!
Of course yield will vary according to different trees and varieties of plant. And the reason I'm sharing this is as a reminder that less is more.
This medicine is more precious then gold.
